I currently work as a computational biologist at Base5 Genomics. I graduated with my Ph.D. from the Computational Biology Program and Department of Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University. I worked in the PDXgx group, co-mentored by Abhi Nellore and Reid Thompson. My work there focused on improving detection and identification of alternative and aberrant splicing in RNA-seq data, with applications in cancer immunotherapy and early detection.
Graduate projects:
- Evaluating detection methods and filter parameters for calling cancer-specific exon-exon junctions, collaboratively with the Gunnar Rätsch group at ETH Zürich.
- Leveraging sample-paired short- and long-read RNA sequencing data from the SRA to evaluate short-read intron retention calling.
